Intertraffic México 2022

VanJee Technology has successfully participated in Intertraffic Mexico from November 8 to 10, 2022 at the citibanamex center in Mexico City.

This was the largest mobility event in Latin America that brings together the most important companies in the sector, road safety associations and government entities. Likewise, VanJee exhibited its LiDAR technology in addition to being part of the Intertraffic technical conference program. VanJee's representative in Mexico, José Carlos Santillanes gave a speech on the first day of the exhibition to introduce VanJee LiDAR to the Mexican public who admit it is an innovative and relatively new technology in the local industry. The objective of the conference in the first part was to educate the public by understanding the operation and applications of LiDAR for mobility, specifically in toll booths for a vehicle classification with greater precision and lower maintenance costs. In Mexico, toll collection fraud can represent up to 30% in losses of revenue for concessionaires due to classification deficiencies.

VanJee has successfully introduced LiDAR as a high precision technology as well as having the support of the engineering team to deliver a customized solution and commissioning assistance. The directors of Acciona Engineering AIDE, one of the largest in Mexico, José A. Romero and Sergio Paredes, were at the conference and as a result after the speech AIDE visited the stand to clarify technical doubts and culminate in closing a deal to implement VanJee LiDAR in its toll booths. These results were quickly made known around the exhibition and did not take long to reach the organizers of Intertraffic and RAI who were very interested and quickly contacted VanJee and AIDE to organize a joint interview to share the story of this agreement.

VanJee's Stand #319 was one of the most visited, only on the first day of the event we had the pleasure of receiving important personalities such as the Dutch ambassador to Mexico Wilfred Mohr, Carlo van de Weijer, General Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of the Technical University of Eindhoven, the Netherlands and Hugo Issak Zepeda, urban international general coordinator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico.

VanJee received and assisted decision-makers from the main private highway concessionaires in Mexico, such as Aleatica, Roadis, Abertis, IBI Gruop, RCO Aldesa, Mota-Engil, at our stand. Altough Weigh In Motion is still not regulated in Mexico VanJee had many inquiry about this technology. We noticed that most of these companies are of Spanish origin and have a presence in whole Latin America. On the other hand, VanJee will seek to create long-term alliances with the most important Spanish integrators with a presence in Mexico and globally, such as Sice and Indra. Indra Mexico director Ms Maité Safón who were in communication with VanJee during the exhibition showed very interested to test VanJee LiDAR for future MLFF projects in Mexico and Spain and invited us to visit one of their toll booth in operations to seek cooperation opportunities.

Without a doubt, VanJee has managed to position LiDAR in Mexico since we were able to successfully create new local agreements with AIDE, bring together experts in mobility and road safety, authorities, entrepreneurs, directors of concessionaires committed to the same goal: to achieve safe and sustainable mobility.
