2025 ITS World Congress (Atlanta, USA) | How Can VanJee LiDAR Spatial Data Empower C-V2X?

Jan 19,2026

From August 24 to 28, the 2025 ITS World Congress was held in Atlanta, USA.
This year's congress focused on V2X deployment planning and emerging application trends, bringing together global leaders to discuss cutting-edge ideas and technological innovation.

At the event, VanJee Technologies' IBD director, Zhai Zhao delivered a presentation titled “How to Use LiDAR Spatial Modeling Data to Enhance C-V2X Systems.”
He showcased VanJee's global projects and value propositions in integrating LiDAR technology with C-V2X, presenting them to experts and stakeholders from around the world

Mr.Zhai emphasized that robust environmental perception is essential for C-V2X systems to achieve safe and efficient traffic management. Traditional sensors such as cameras and inductive loops can only provide two-dimensional data, and they face limitations in high-traffic or complex scenarios, making it difficult to meet the full requirements of modern applications.

VanJee LiDAR, however, delivers three-dimensional spatial data within a unified coordinate system, enabling rapid detection of all traffic participants and building a far more accurate perception framework. This allows C-V2X systems to achieve precise target detection, efficient event triggering, and real-time visualization of traffic conditions—supporting critical functions such as early safety warnings, enforcement management, and traffic data exchange.

The value of VanJee LiDAR has already been proven in real-world applications around the world.
In the Suzhou High-Speed Rail New Town “Road-Vehicle-Cloud” demonstration project, VanJee's smart intersection technology enhances autonomous driving. The LiDAR captures complete traffic data at intersections and transmits it through VanJee's C-V2X smart roadside unit to connected autonomous vehicles within 20 milliseconds. The system accomplishes precise temporal-spatial alignment and data fusion, significantly improving the vehicle's perception and decision-making capabilities, thereby ensuring safer driving.

At the smart intersection in Bangkok, Thailand, VanJee LiDAR performs real-time scanning of traffic flow and builds a digital twin model. This enables accurate detection, classification, and positioning of vehicles, improving intersection efficiency and supporting refined traffic enforcement.

In free-flow tolling systems, VanJee LiDAR is used for triggering, positioning, tracking, and vehicle classification, effectively enabling highly accurate ETC toll collection.

In tunnel environments, visibility is limited, space is narrow, and GPS signals are unavailable, conditions that lead to frequent traffic accidents. VanJee deploys a LiDAR unit every 200 meters inside a smart tunnel, enabling high-precision vehicle positioning and environmental perception, while also generating a real-time digital twin model of the tunnel.

Through deep integration with the C-V2X system, dynamic traffic flow control becomes possible. In the event of an accident, the system can rapidly generate a scientifically optimized rescue plan and deliver timely warning messages to approaching vehicles, maximizing safety for road users and reducing property damage.

The congress highlighted VanJee’s flagship product designed for intelligent transportation—the WLR-733 (64-line) LiDAR.

This LiDAR features a 200-meter detection range, 360° horizontal field of view, and a vertical field of view from –1.5° to –42°, with a ranging accuracy of ±3 cm, making it particularly suitable for complex outdoor environments. By outputting high-density real-time point cloud data, it can cover more than four lanes while significantly reducing blind spots.

VanJee LiDAR is capable of generating 3D vehicle contours through point cloud data and achieving centimeter-level ranging accuracy. This enables reliable vehicle tracking and evidence collection, forming a comprehensive multi-dimensional evidence chain. As a result, it provides traffic management authorities with high-quality, fully digitalized traffic data.

VanJee is also continuously advancing the efficient integration of VanJee LiDAR with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano. Leveraging its powerful GPU-based edge computing capabilities, the system can perform front-end spatial modeling, dynamic traffic detection, object classification, and precise positioning directly at the edge. This provides strong support for C-V2X systems in spatial localization, temporal alignment, digital twin generation, signal optimization, and intelligent enforcement.

VanJee is deeply applying LiDAR technology within C-V2X systems across key traffic scenarios, such as free-flow tolling, complex intersections, and tunnels, helping C-V2X achieve higher-precision data interaction and more efficient traffic management.
