VanJee LiDAR 722 Empowers Lawn Mowing Robots with High-Precision Positioning and Omnidirectional Sensing
May 15,2026
Since 2024, the global robotic lawn mower market has entered a phase of rapid growth with a year-over-year growth rate of 100%. In this sector, the perception technology for robotic lawn mowers is gradually evolving from RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) positioning to LiDAR. In 2025, global shipments of robotic lawn mowers exceeded 2 million units, of which approximately 300,000 units were LiDAR-equipped models, representing a penetration rate of over 15%. Meanwhile, the annual growth rate of LiDAR applications in this field is projected to surpass 200%.
VanJee LiDAR 722 (16-line / 32-line) is an ultra-wide-angle spherical LiDAR custom-developed by VanJee for robotic lawn mower applications. It integrates high-precision positioning, environmental perception, and precise obstacle avoidance, enabling reliable operation in complex garden environments. By the end of Q1 2026, approximately 300,000 units of LiDAR orders were being delivered in an orderly manner.
Previous generations of robotic lawn mowers mainly relied on an RTK + vision technology scheme. However, their positioning stability was often compromised in European and American gardens with dense trees and buildings that block signals. In contrast, VanJee LiDAR 722 delivers a detection range of up to 100 meters with ±3 cm ranging accuracy, providing robust navigation and precise obstacle avoidance.
In scenarios with severe tree occlusion and unstable satellite signals, the robot can complete autonomous mapping, path planning, and automatic operation without relying on Wi-Fi or satellite navigation, significantly improving the out-of-box user experience.

VanJee LiDAR 722 features a 360° × 40° ultra-wide field of view and a 100-meter detection range, delivering omnidirectional, wide-area environmental perception for robotic lawn mowers. With a maximum point frequency of 192,000 pts/s, a single scan covers approximately 500–5000 ㎡, effectively identifying low obstacles, steps, shrubs, and other objects. At the same time, the product has a compact size (65 mm × 64 mm × 64 mm) and weighs only 0.22 kg, making it an ideal sensor for lightweight robotic lawn mower design.
In terms of reliability, LiDAR 722 is equipped with anti-fouling technology and lens self-inspection, ensuring stable operation in mud, dust, and other harsh working conditions. It features built-in IMU temperature compensation calibration and supports an intelligent rain-sensing return-to-charge function, maintaining consistent performance in extreme cold, heat, rain, snow, dust, and strong sunlight. Thanks to these advantages, LiDAR 722 has been adopted by leading robotic lawn mower manufacturers, including HOOKII, Dreame, and Xcan.
As one of the early brands to mass-produce LiDAR-vision fusion solutions for robotic lawn mowers, HOOKII integrates VanJee LiDAR 722 into its Neomow L and Neomow X2 series. For gardens of different sizes and diverse user needs, LiDAR 722 delivers strong support in installation convenience, spatial adaptability, and user experience. It helps the equipment achieve centimeter-level navigation, omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, and complex terrain traversal, expanding all-terrain and all-scenario performance.

As a technology pioneer in intelligent robotic lawn mowers, DreamTech uses VanJee LiDAR 722 as a core component of the complete perception system in its A1 series. Combined with DreamTech’s proprietary OmniSense™ system, it provides a 360° × 59° field of view and centimeter-level ranging accuracy, supporting path planning and 3D garden mapping to effectively identify and avoid flower beds, trees, and other obstacles.
The A1 Pro series requires no boundary wires or pegs, further improving deployment efficiency and ease of use. With VanJee LiDAR 722, it can automatically return to charge in rainy conditions and resume operation once the rain stops.

As a company deploying both 360° mechanical LiDAR and solid-state LiDAR solutions, Xcan has adopted VanJee LiDAR 722 in its Xcan series to build the XcanSense™ 5D perception system, realizing a true out-of-box experience. With power consumption as low as 3.7 W, a compact structure, and lightweight design, LiDAR 722 helps optimize the vehicle-grade architecture for lightweight integration and improves system assembly efficiency.
Additionally, the 360° × 40° ultra-wide field of view and 100-meter detection range allow the Xcan series to operate stably on gardens with slopes up to 45° and complete complex edge-trimming tasks. Its IP67 ingress protection rating ensures stable ranging and obstacle detection in rain, fog, dust, and nighttime environments.
Xcan Intelligent Mowing Robot Series Built-in VanJee LiDAR 722 Enables Out-of-the-Box Use for All Scenarios
As the robotic lawn mower market continues to expand, VanJee LiDAR 722 is becoming a key enabler of perception system upgrades with its high-precision positioning, omnidirectional perception, and exceptional environmental adaptability.
Moving forward, VanJee will continue to optimize and iterate LiDAR products based on the application requirements of robotic lawn mowers, providing the industry with more cost-effective perception solutions and enabling stable, efficient operation in increasingly complex scenarios.
