VanJee and Baidu Apollo Deepen Hardware Ecosystem Cooperation; Multiple LiDAR Models Complete Platform Integration

Aug 26,2026

Recently, VanJee LiDAR WLR-750 and WLR-760 successfully passed ROS driver adaptation and Apollo platform installation verification, successfully integrating into the Apollo hardware development platform. To date, multiple LiDARs such as the WLR-720, WLR-722, WLR-750, and WLR-760 have been adapted and validated within the Apollo ecosystem, providing platform ecosystem partners with a more diverse range of perception hardware options.

VanJee solutions integrated into the Apollo hardware development platform

Since Baidu Apollo was open-sourced in 2017, it has established an open technology system covering vehicle platforms, hardware development, software algorithms, and cloud services. Standardized access and thorough verification of hardware devices are the key foundation for ensuring the stable operation of autonomous driving systems.

After joining the Apollo ecosystem, VanJee Laser actively participated in hardware compatibility verification and community technology collaboration, successively completing driver adaptation and integration testing for multiple LiDAR models and platforms, providing developers with certified perception hardware options. At the same time, VanJee Laser participated in the Apollo open-source community Meetup format, collaborating with developers and industry partners to discuss the deployment and optimization of perception solutions in real scenarios, and contributed corresponding radar configurations and integration references for different application scenarios such as autonomous driving and robotics.

VanJee Laser participated in the Baidu Apollo Developer Meetup (Wuhan stop).

The WLR-750 and WLR-760 lidars introduced by VanJee focus on the core needs of filling blind spots in autonomous driving, further enriching the hardware configuration options for the Apollo platform in the solid-state lidar field, and providing more flexible solutions for building advanced autonomous driving perception systems.

As a pure solid-state LiDAR designed for vehicle-side blind spot compensation scenarios, the WLR-750 adopts a pure solid-state architecture design with a service life of up to ten years, helping to enhance the stability of the vehicle-side perception system during long-term operation. It features an ultra-wide field of view of 128°(H) ×96°(V) and a compact size of only 70mm×70mm×70mm, allowing flexible integration on both sides of the vehicle body and working in conjunction with the main radar to achieve no-blind-spot environmental perception, effectively reducing potential risks caused by short-range detection blind spots.

Additionally, to address the common challenge of high-throw interference, the WLR-750 adopts a two-dimensional addressable solution, capable of outputting clearer and less expanded point cloud data in complex reflective scenarios, significantly reducing the difficulty of subsequent algorithm processing and providing a stable and reliable lateral sensing foundation for autonomous driving systems.

The WLR-760 is VanJee's semi-solid-state main LiDAR product launched for the automotive field. It has a range measurement capability of 300 m (200m@10%) and an effective ground line detection distance of over 50 meters. It can accurately capture long-distance environmental information, effectively supporting precise route planning and rapid decision-making response.

This product adopts a one-dimensional rotating mirror scanning mode, achieving true 192-line scanning while simplifying internal structure and improving reliability. Its wide field of view of 120° × 25° effectively expands vehicle perception boundaries, enhances environmental awareness in complex road conditions such as cornering and intersections, reduces blind spots, and improves driving safety.

Additionally, the WLR-760 LiDAR has a body height of only 30 mm and operating noise below 25 dB, allowing flexible installation inside the cabin. It maximizes perception performance while balancing vehicle exterior design and driving comfort, achieving dual improvements in performance and user experience.

Currently, the autonomous driving industry is moving from technology validation to large-scale mass production. Deep adaptation and standardization of sensing hardware and software platforms have become key paths to promote large-scale technology application. Multiple LiDAR products from VanJee have completed standardized integration and validation with the Apollo platform, providing a reusable and integrable perception hardware foundation for autonomous driving application development. On this basis, VanJee Laser will continue to collaborate with Baidu Apollo and industry partners for collaborative innovation, jointly advancing the solid implementation and ecosystem construction of autonomous driving technology.
