International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva | VanJee Technology and Tongji University Jointly Awarded Silver Prize

Dec 13,2023

The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva recently concluded,  it has featuring over 800 exhibitors from 40 countries showcasing 1000+ inventions. Tongji University and VanJee Technology developed the 'Intelligent Intersection Risk Control Equipment for Zero-Accident Vision,' and earned the Silver Award.

Global road traffic safety is a significant challenge, especially at intersections, it requires substantial improvement. Challenges in perceiving risks, identifying accidents, and providing targeted interventions is hinder safety technology advancements.

The invention targets various intersection scenarios, enhancing driving safety by reducing traffic accidents. It uses LiDAR for precise identification of pedestrian and non-motor vehicle accident risks, constructing a risk model and issuing targeted safety warnings based on individual traits and location.

VanJee Technology introduced designs and methods to improve risk identification at intersections. This includes a multi-sensor fusion algorithm, lightweight roadside stations, and the WLR-733 LiDAR, which scans downward, generating high-quality point clouds and boasting a wide field of view.

The WLR-733 LiDAR scans downward from -1.5° to -42°, pinpointing road objects. It creates better point clouds over a larger area, finding distant small hurdles with more accuracy due to a finer resolution of 0.1 degrees. Using mechanical scanning, it sees 360 degrees horizontally, reaching 200m for 10% reflective surfaces and 110m for the farthest ground line, balancing measurement distance and breadth.

VanJee Technology's intelligent station is utilizing devices like LiDAR, find extensive application in national smart highway and city projects.

(The Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, established in 1973, is one of the longest-running and largest-scale invention exhibitions globally. It is jointly organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the Geneva State Government, the Geneva City Government, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The exhibition involves professional judges selected by the organizing committee from various European countries who communicate face-to-face with exhibitors and assess the inventions.)
